Track Desert Rhino
Wilderness Safaris Desert Rhino Camp is run in conjunction with Save the Rhino Trust in the private Palmweg concession on Damaraland between the Etosha National Park and the Skeleton Coast. The camp helps fund rhino conservation efforts in the region. Guests set out on an early morning game drive while trackers head out and search for the rhino’s latest location.
When the rhino have been found, guests will be driven to within about a kilometre (0,6 mile) from the rhino and then will walk in on foot, until close enough to get a good view without disturbing the rhino. There is nothing like the thrill of approaching such a large, endangered creature on foot.
